Washington / D.C.

The other day I was reading over somebody's shoulder on the subway and caught a glimpse of an article on Washington. Suddenly it dawned on me, hey I had lived in Washington. In fact, I had lived there for 8 years! (1990-1998)

Why I was surprised was because I always think of myself as having lived in D.C. Not Washington. And there's a big difference.

  1. I don't know the difference. So, does it boil down to apple trees and country lanes as opposed to marble halls and wingtips or what?

oh brother man i know of what you speak..i actually thought i lived in the republic of dc..it was it's own little city state governed by extreme poverty and violence and neglect..as well as more hope and determination to make change happen then i had ever seen anywhere!
